Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. Born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modeling career there. Her acting career began in 1996, when she was a character in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It was a struggle to land a small role on Starship Troopers. It was a hard time when she had to change from modeling to acting since models were not considered to be good actors and tended to be assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy did not give up. She worked her way up to greater roles, starting with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In 2005, she was cast on the lead role in the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she'd been looking for more than a decade. The actress continued to appear in major films, such as Crank alongside Jason Statham or Shameless in which she became a cherished regular part of the cast.
