Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children who would grow up in the same household, figured out very early on how to conquer of her difficulties through her vibrant and vivid imagination. Before she learned to read or write Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own music. In 8 years, she got her first guitar. In the age of 11 when she was 11, she began singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. That same year, she recorded her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. The singer established a name in the local scene while at high school, but wanted to perform on a larger stage. The singer moved to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show needed an additional singer around the time. Parton accepted the role in 1966. She then was signed to RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. Parton wrote I Will Always love You for Wagoner after their breakup. It reached number one. It was the first time a single reached No.
