Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the sole celebrity who transitioned from the traditional to the mainstream, and to become a pop icon worldwide. Swift shed country like it was an additional layer, showing that she's possibly the smartest pop-singer/songwriter her generation. Someone who is able to harness the mood of times to make her music personal as well as sing in the other direction. The first songs she released including the neotribute for Tim McGraw were a testament to her talents. The second album Fearless of 2008 proved to be a songwriter finding her voice and a wider public. The album ended up with a lot of appeal not just in the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles due to the Top Ten hits Love Story and the hit single You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success in Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago was a continuation of her earlier popularity and launched the singer into superstardom. The three albums following -- Red 2012, 1989 2014 and Reputation 2017. her fame only grew. That was an obvious indication that she was in the new music scene that she could be part of. She was in the forefront of pop even when she dropped her own style on her sister albums, folklore and Evermore in 2020.
